I once noticed a pattern in my behavior: I was spending a lot of time thinking or worrying about
things that ultimately didn't really matter 'in the grand scheme of
things.' So I began to ask myself each time "Do I actually care?" Later I noticed another pattern: I was also spending a lot of time thinking or worrying about things I didn't have control over. So I added another question: "Do I have control?" And thus began an experiment: Could I categorize all things in life into just four categories, and would it make any real difference? The simplicity of the idea is what impressed me the most: Figure out what category an item belongs in, then follow the rules of that category. With determination and persistence I was able to end some habits and start others. It took years. I succeeded. Life improved. The goal of this site is to effectively communicate this philosophy using few words. I have invented nothing. This knowledge has existed for ages. NEXT-> |
